I'm Katherine, a twenty-something with an old soul. I'm a lady of love, light, and letters, a latter-day hippie, and a domestic diva. I study literature at Yale, pray to the scholar of one candle, paint walls, sew buttons, write poetry, make lemon curd, design flower arrangements, and decorate homes. I build furniture out of recycled materials, teach yoga, rescue and redesign old clothes, grow herbs, dream of owning a brunch café, and always make sure to greet the world with a smile. I pass through life with one intention: to spread and receive as much love and affection as possible. I am Katherine, who sings out the great song of life and dances in the wind.
My greatest teachers in life have been Wallace Stevens, Bruce Springsteen, Christie Ryan, the Italian countryside, and my illimitable potential to continuously fall in love.
My eclectic interests and hobbies defy definition. "I AM LARGE. I CONTAIN MULTITUDES!" This blog is an attempt to capture a passing glimpse of the strange and beautiful whims that at times sweep together to reflect a momentary image of the me, myself. The subject matter of the blog will primarily encompass: cooking (recipes and inspiration), home decor (DIY projects, room renovations), and fashion (thrift store conversions and sketches).
I myself am my own compass, forever in search of home. Here, I welcome you to tour the home I've fashioned for myself both in my imagination and in reality. Welcome home!
